Our Work
At the height of COVID, non-functional oxygen equipment led to countless lives being lost. But what if these devices could be repaired and put back into service? That’s where the Oxygen Alliance comes in.
The Oxygen Alliance is an organization focused on health systems strengthening to build a sustainable and resilient healthcare ecosystem. Our mission is to advocate for the repair and maintenance of biomedical devices, ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). We’ve established a multidisciplinary collaborative platform by bringing together a diverse network of partners—including governments, biomedical engineers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), manufacturers, and academic institutions.
Our range of sustainable initiatives is designed to empower stakeholders across the biomedical ecosystem and strengthen healthcare systems in a lasting way. These include conducting situational analysis, supporting biomedical engineers/technicians through their national associations, launching the BME Konza app, publishing the BEST-LMIC journal, and producing over 150 training videos and webinars. Through these collaborative efforts, the Oxygen Alliance works to ensure that life-saving equipment stays functional where it is needed most.
